| Martin Billany (Little Kuriboh) |
 |
Creator of Yu-Gi-Oh The Abridged Series, Martin “LittleKuriboh” Billany has been banned from YouTube on more occasions than Fred has subscribers. His series however, is alive and kicking and he has somehow convinced people that parodying a show about teenagers saving the universe with trading cards is a fine art. Suckers. |

| Cloudscape Comics |
 |
You probably have heard about them already if you are into the art scene in Vancouver. Cloudscape is to be an organization where talented comic artists can meet and support one another while contributing to the already flourishing comics community in the Lower Mainland. Besides some of our artist guests, below are some other members that will be there at Anime Evolution 2010. You can also read more about them at http://www.cloudscapecomics.com.
Steve LeCouilliard is a relative newcomer to the Vancouver comix scene. A freelance storyboard artist, Steve makes his living in Vancouver’s animation industry. In 2007, his lifelong love affair with comics, and frustration with the business of television, led him to start his own webcomic, Much the Miller’s Son. The strip, a comedic re-telling of the legend of Robin Hood through the eyes of the least Merry Man, has drawn the attention of many influential cartoonists, and is currently in it’s second volume. Steve lives in Coquitlam with his wife and two young sons.
Wei Li is a Xeric Award winning Vancouver artist and writer. He is a graduate with his BBA from Simon Fraser University and is currently doing the commercial animation program at Capilano University. Wei was born in Shenzhen, China and immigrated to the United States at 9 years of age. He and his family arrived in Canada in 2001 and have remained here since.
Wei spends most of his time drawing, and when we say most, we mean about 95% of his waking hours. He has been drawing comics as long as he’s had a pencil on a piece of paper, with Anatta being his first serious attempt at a webcomic.
Wei lives and works in his Coquitlam apartment with his two cats, Eire and Charlie and his partner and often co-artist, Anise Shaw.
Anise Shaw is a Vancouver-born comic artist and a director of Cloudscape. With a BFA in Visual Arts, she spent most of her degree pretending she wasn’t a comic artist at all. Nonetheless, she continued to draw and paint, starting with her collaborative comic Anatta. Anise’s current project is The Liberation of Bailey Giordano, an online comic about the quirky sex lives of suburban inhabitants.
As a bread earning project, Anise is a cartooning, animation and visual arts instructors for several municipalities in the GreaterVancouver area. She loves teaching after school program to children as they tend to be great sources of laughs, unbridled aspirations and artistic inspiration. She lives with her partner, Wei Li and is often caught cooing at something cute her two cats are doing.
Jeff Ellis, born and raised in Vancouver, is the chief cat herder behind Cloudscape Comics. When he’s not waving around the cat nip he’s drawing Teach English in Japan, his webcomic inspired by his time spent as an English teacher abroad.
As a teacher and Cloudscape organiser, Jeff has carried a mandate to support and grow the Vancouver comics scene. As such, he has organised and edited four Cloudscape anthologies, numerous comic events and lent his time and support to such community building endeavours as Anime Evolution.
Reetta Linjama is an artist, animator and new member to Cloudscape comics. Hailing from Finland, Reetta arrived in Vancouver to complete the commercial animation program at Capilano University. She brings a passionate and quirky sensibility to the local comic community and has consistently contributed quality short comics for the weekly Cloudscape comic battles. Reetta is hoping to cut her teeth on the upcoming Cloudscape comic anthology based on Journeys.
By day Jonathon Dalton is an elementary school teacher in the town of Mission, just outside Vancouver. By night his main ambition seems to be drawing comics, a few of which have been published, and most of which are on his website. Some day he hopes to get paid for the comics he makes. Jonathon has also lived in Toronto, the United States, Taiwan, and Britain, though he swears he is staying put from now on. Quite frankly however, I don’t believe him. |

| Richard Ian Cox |
 |
Richard Ian Cox has been acting in film and television since the late 1700′s. Understandably, work was hard to come by in the early days before the invention of either medium. It wasn’t until the release of the first talkies in 1927 that Richard’s career started to show signs of life. He first became known to the viewing public with the airing of “The Adventures of the Black Stallion” in 1990. Richard’s modern career has included regular stints on “Cold Squad”, “Beggars and Choosers”, “Breaker High”, as well as guest starring roles on “Stargate: SG1″, “Stargate: Atlantis”, “Eureka” and films including “Alive”, “R.V.”, “Battle in Seattle”, “Ghost Rider”.
Richard has also enjoyed a varied career in animation . . . well not the animation part, the talking part. Roles in “Ranma ½”, “Inuyasha”, “Botsmaster”, “Trouble Chocolate”, “First Gundam”, “Mega Man”, “Gundam Seed”, “Hamtaro”, “Gundam 00″, “Being Ian”, “X-Men Evolution”, “Will and Dewitt”, “Care Bears”… and a bunch of other stuff has earned Richard a reputation as a guy who knows which end of a mic to speak into. These days Richard is hard at work trying to solve the current economic crisis. He’s pretty sure it involves jelly beans. Check Richard out on Facebook, Twitter, and on his website at www.richardiancox.com.

With videos seen in places like CNN, NBC, PAX, and The Escapist Magazine (home of Zero Punctuation!) LRR are poised at the precipice of total internet success, which unfortunately, is only redeemable for a six-pack of chicken nuggets IRL.
In their spare time the LRR crew like to pet kitties, and/or raise money for Child’s Play through the Desert Bus for Hope Fundraiser, which has raised nearly $250,000 in 3 years.
Come and see them! They’re lonely!

Cosplayer and improv actor, twinfools has been involved in the anime community since he graduated from high school. You know, so that none of his “cool” buddies could call him a nerd for dressing up like a cartoon character. Or so that his mom wouldn’t ask him why he owned more wigs than baseball hats. Whichever makes more sense. A member of Fighting Dreamers Productions, he performs, writes and tailors costumes for skits which are featured on the group’s Youtube channel. A portfolio of his cosplays can be found on his Deviant Art account: http://twinfools.deviantart.com/

Cosplaying since 2004, Nova Vandorwolf has learned much about what not to do when it comes to cosplays. She has learned many tips and tricks over the last few years from trial and error, as well as other cosplayers. Nova hopes to continue learning about sewing as well as wig styling so she can improve her skills and make better costumes in the future. While making her own costumes is fun, her favourite part of cosplaying is the acting portion. Nova has always had an interest in acting and film-work so cosplaying has been a fun way to explore those interests. Her passion for acting has now expanded to behind-the-camera work. She enjoys planning, directing and editing skits and cosplay music videos. |

Valdrein has been part of the Vancouver cosplay seen since 2005. Being self taught, she has been slowly improving her sewing skills and is branching off into armor and large scale accessories. She loves to challenge herself and would rather fail miserably then never try. Although some of her favorite costumes are obscure characters from her childhood, such as Prince Derek (Swan Princess) and Jacquimo (Thumbelina). She is a firm believer that cosplay should be fun, and that if you can’t laugh at yourself then you’re doing it wrong. Valdrein joined the cosplay group Fighting Dreamers Pro in 2007, and though there have been many ups and downs it has, and still continues to be, a fantastic journey. Threw her group she has been able to work on tutorials, skits, and numerous cosplay events. They have been able to travel together to different conventions throughout the Pacific North West and have meet some truly amazing people. |

Mavi has been cosplaying since she was in the 5th grade, back before she even knew what cosplay technically was. Ever since she made Hikaru Shidou out of old clothing for Halloween she has loved to create costumes. As she got more into anime, she eventually found Anime Evolution when it was just starting out with 200 people at SFU downtown. Her favourite part about cosplaying is that she gets to meet new people and challenge herself with creating the exciting costumes. A lot of the people she has met at Anime Evolution have become longtime friends and have taught her many things about sewing and cosplaying. Three years ago Mavi found another passion with her fellow cosplayers: acting. After joining the cosplay group Fighting Dreamers Productions, Mavi found herself being thrown into skits with her fellow teammates and having a good time doing it.

Lazlo is a member of Fighting Dreamers Productions and usually takes the role of photographer, though has sometimes been seen on the other side of the camera in cosplay. Lazlo got into photography at an early age and still has his first camera, a Pentax K1000. He’s graduated from both the Art Institute and Vancouver Film School and continues to take as many pictures as he can. http:// weatherstone.deviantart.com/ |

KENSHIRO
Position: Cosplayer
Specialty: Prop building. Cosplaying bitter old warriors.
Group Affiliation: FDP
Blood Type: A
Favorite Food: Rare steak.
Favorite Anime/Manga: Hokuto no Ken, Planetes, Naruto, Berserk
Likes: Weightlifting. Meat. Martial Arts.
Kenshiro lives his life in the spirit of his namesake, traveling the globe and making people’s heads explode while wearing ridiculous clothes. He funds this outrageous behavior by making his staff work like slaves to produce video games while taking all the credit for it himself. This behavior extends to cosplay where he forces other cosplayers to build props according to his random instructions while he is eating popcorn and claiming that they “do it all wrong”.
