FAQ
What is the Art Gallery?
Anime Evolution’s Art Gallery is a place for anyone and everyone with a bit of artistic flare to display and/or sell their artwork. It is managed by convention staff, and is intended to provide a space for the appreciation of artwork in a quiet and relaxing environment. This is not to be confused with Artist Alley, which provides high-traffic convention space for artists manning their own tables.
How do I Sell Art?
There are two methods of selling art:
- Silent Auction –Artwork will be available for bid until the last day of the convention, where the highest bidder will be able to collect their winning piece. Some auction pieces will have a direct buy out price, which will over rule the current highest bidder.
- 2. Direct Sale – Artists with multiple prints may sell their artwork at a direct price, instead of putting them up for auction. The prices may be adjusted throughout the con, to the discretion of the artist. Artists are responsible for maintaining their supply of artwork for sale.
10% Commission will be deducted from all art sales to cover expenses.
Do I have to sell art to put it up on the display?
No. If you wish to only display your artwork, you may register your art and state that it is not for sale and will be displayed for the length of the entire convention.
How do I sign up?
Send an email to artgallery@animeevolution.com with the “Art Gallery Registration” in the subject line with the following information:

What kinds of limitations on art?
- No plagiarism.
- Fan-art is welcome as long as it is original composition. No tracing, re-coloring, or manipulation (in whole or in part) of existing pieces will be tolerated.
- Artwork must be fit for general public. Artwork containing coarse language, nudity, heavy sexual connotations, racism, or prejudice will NOT be accepted.
How much does it cost to put up artwork?
1 half panel (see attached image) is provided by donation (Suggested donation of $1/person). Additional half panels can be reserved at $5 / extra board.
How big are the panels?
- Full – 4′ x 8′
- Half – 4′ x 4′
What kind of materials can an artist use?
- Materials such as paper are suggested as they are easily attached to the panels (using clips or other mechanisms). To prevent damage to your artwork, we strongly suggest using frames or mounting.
- Please refrain from displaying art in glass frames. Anime Evolution Art Gallery will not be responsible for any broken glass, or artwork.
What if my artwork does not fit on a panel?
We can procure extra equipment (such as tables) if you let us know ahead of time. Please let us know of any special needs asap. There may be an additional cost.
When do I pick up my artwork?
TBA (End of closing ceremony). You may request to reclaim your art at an earlier date or time, please contact Art Gallery Staff for more information.
Do I need to fill my allocated space?
We would like to have as many complete panels as possible. If you are thinking you are unable to fill what you have, let us know, we’ll try to find someone else who can share with you. Or you can share with a friend.
Where is Art Gallery going to be located?
We are located in the dealers area next to artist alley. This means your artwork will get lots of exposure.
