Why the Gauntlet?
Vancouver has long been a hub of game development companies, and gaming clubs of all different varieties. Creating an event to bring everyone together seemed like a logical progression, and the idea was met with much enthusiasm when suggested.

The Rounds

Round 1:
Hosted by the UBC Wargamers, the first round will be played on an assortment of board games. Don’t be fooled though, as one of the longest running clubs at UBC, the Wargamers have a multitude of strange and unusual games that they are looking forward to introducing you to. 16 players will move on from this round.

Round 2:
Hosted by CapLAN, the second round will be played on networked PCs. Although the specifics of the round are still being finalized, you should be warned that when CapLAN was invited to host this round, they grew evil smiles and began cackling maniacally. 8 players will move on from this round.

Round 3:
Hosted by the UBC Competitive Video Game Association, the third round will be retro-console based. Contestants will face off in a series of classic Bomberman matches with a twist ending to keep you on your toes! When the smoke clears, only 2 players will move on from this round.

Round 4:
The FINAL round! Sorry, but this round is a secret until the time comes for it to be challenged!
